You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. This page explains what gets deleted, what we are required to keep, and exactly how to submit a request.
1. Overview
StayVue Technologies respects your right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") under applicable data protection laws, including the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.
This policy applies to all registered users of the StayVue platform, guests who have been granted access to a property, and any individual whose personal data we process in connection with our services.
2. What Gets Deleted
Upon a verified deletion request or account closure, we permanently delete:
- Your account profile (name, email, phone, profile photo)
- Your property configurations, camera names, and access codes
- All video footage and recorded clips stored under your account
- Motion detection event history and alert logs
- Guest access records and associated contact information
- In-app messages and support ticket content
- Device tokens, session data, and API keys
- Marketing preferences and communication history
3. What We Retain After Deletion
Some data must be retained even after deletion to comply with legal obligations:
- Billing records: Transaction history, invoices, and payment records are retained for 7 years as required by UAE financial regulations and international tax law.
- Fraud & abuse logs: Where an account was suspended for Terms of Service violations, we retain minimal records (account ID, violation type, date) to prevent re-registration.
- Anonymised analytics: Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics (with no link to your identity) may be retained indefinitely.
- Legal holds: If data is subject to a court order, legal proceeding, or regulatory investigation, deletion may be delayed until the hold is lifted.
4. Automatic Deletion
Some data is deleted automatically without requiring a manual request:
- Video footage is deleted after your plan's storage window (7, 30, or 90 days), on a rolling basis.
- Guest access tokens are deleted immediately when the access window expires.
- Inactive accounts โ accounts with no login for 24 consecutive months will receive a notice and, if unresponsive, be scheduled for deletion after 30 days.
- Session data is purged automatically after each session ends or after 30 days of inactivity.
5. How to Request Deletion

6. Timeline & Process
We send an email confirmation acknowledging your request and may ask for identity verification.
To protect against unauthorised deletion, we verify that the request comes from the account holder.
Once verified, we initiate deletion across our systems, including backups and third-party processors.
We send a final confirmation email confirming that your data has been deleted and listing any data retained for legal reasons.
We aim to complete all deletion requests within 30 days. Complex cases involving legal holds may take longer, and we will notify you of any delays.
7. Third-Party Data
When we delete your data, we instruct our sub-processors (cloud storage, analytics providers, etc.) to delete your data within their systems as well. However, we cannot guarantee deletion from third-party systems outside our control, such as:
- Government or law enforcement records where data was lawfully disclosed
- Cached or archived versions created by third-party services you connected to StayVue
- Data independently collected by platforms like app stores (Apple, Google) about your download activity
For social login providers (Google, Apple), you should also manage data deletion directly with those providers.
